ORC Forensics’ Footprint and Tire Track Frame of References are rulers purposely designed to compliment the FBI’s Bureau Scales. The original Bureau Scale is a specific corner square based on FBI guidelines and recommendations. These items are used as official equipment for their photographers at crime scenes. Use the Footprint and Tire Track Frame of References as measurement guides when taking photographs out in the field, the black-and-white contrasting graphics are calculated to give the user clarity and the greatest readability from a distance.
The Two Sided Dual Edge Rulers are made of a hearty 1/16″ thick plastic and feature non-glare surfacing. These rulers read in millimeter increments on the top and bottom edges, which allow the rules to used in both left- and right-hand reading varieties. On one side of this Bureau Scale is a white background with black graphics, while the reverse side has a black background with white graduations and numerals. Two sizes are available in this style, a 15cm long model and an 18cm model, and each size is sold as a 10 pack of rulers.
Another feature of our Footprint and Tire Track Frame of References are the Parralox Circles at each of the ends. The Parralox Circles are a useful tool to analyze photographs that have our scales within the frame. An investigator can examine the shape and displacement of the circle graphics in order to determine if the picture was taken at an angle or if there is a change of depth. This is something that would be incredibly difficult to ascertain using rulers without these circles. The Parralox Circles help to prove our commitment to making measuring devices that achieve the highest level of accuracy and functionality.
